July 2026 | A Teacher Just Put Friendlies on Her Classroom Shelf

Some reviews arrive quietly and mean a great deal.

This week, popular UK educator @_what_the_teacher_reads shared a thoughtful review of our picture book, Friendlies, with her community on Instagram.

She highlighted the book’s playful chaos, its mix of warmth, humour, and adventure, and confirmed that Friendlies will be entering her school classroom in the UK very soon.

For an independently published, 100% human-made picture book, that is one of the most meaningful things an educator can say.

Friendlies is a spirited rhyming story about acceptance, mutual respect, and what happens when a very mismatched group of neighbours ends up at the same table. Every illustration is hand-painted in watercolour by Dainius Sukys, with the kind of detail that rewards a second and third reading.

It is the sort of book that works in a classroom because it never tries to deliver a lesson. It just tells a story, and the children do the rest.
