August 2026 | A new read-aloud of A Strange Sound is now available on Book League Storytime, and we are delighted to share it with you.

We are so glad that we once happened upon Book League Storytime on Instagram. There, Richard Ricci shares funny behind-the-scenes videos showing how he records children’s books, creates character voices and brings each story together in a style entirely his own.

Everyone at our publishing house already knows how A Strange Sound ends, but the combination of the narration, editing and final music still moved us deeply. It reminded us how differently a familiar story can feel when another talented storyteller gives it a voice.
